01 / Most engaged

AI implementation that survives past the kickoff meeting.

Most small business AI initiatives die between "we should look into this" and "it's part of how we work now." The gap is structured planning, honest tool selection, and someone who'll still be in the conversation at the 90-day mark. That's what this is.

What this is

AI implementation consulting for small businesses, founders, and selectively mid-market teams. We assess where you are, identify the highest-leverage opportunities, recommend a tool stack, and plan the rollout. Engagement shape varies by client because no two businesses are at the same starting point.

Where engagements start

Almost every conversation starts in one of three places:

  • "AI keeps coming up and we don't know what to do." The board, the leadership team, or a customer is asking. We run a structured audit, identify 3-5 real opportunities, and recommend the smallest sequence of moves that creates measurable impact.
  • "We already tried and it stalled." Most common. A tool was bought, a few people tried it, the rollout never quite happened. We diagnose what went wrong (it's rarely the tool), redesign the rollout, and rebuild the success metrics.
  • "We have a specific problem we think AI could solve." Customer service backlog, content production, data entry, lead qualification, internal knowledge access. We scope whether AI is actually the right fix, and if it is, design the path.

How engagements run

Three common engagement shapes. The right one depends on your situation:

Audit-first (2-3 weeks)

For businesses that want a clear-eyed read on where AI fits before committing to anything bigger. Stakeholder interviews, current-state audit, opportunity map, recommended stack, prioritized roadmap. No implementation in this scope. Output is a document you can act on yourself, hand to a different consultant, or use as the basis for a Phase 2 engagement with us.

AI Sprint (3-4 weeks)

For businesses that want something working fast. We pick one high-leverage workflow, design it, build it, train your team on it, and hand off the operating playbook. Designed to produce a visible win that builds internal buy-in for broader work.

Phased Implementation (3-4 months)

For businesses ready to do this properly. Audit, then quick win, then broader rollout across multiple workflows or teams. Includes ongoing training, tool selection, and change management support. Most common engagement shape for businesses with 10+ employees.

What you get

  • Custom opportunity map specific to your business
  • Recommended tool stack with cost-of-ownership math
  • Rollout plan with phased milestones and named owners
  • Training plan to match (we can deliver it ourselves under Training)
  • Success metrics with baseline data captured before any rollout begins
  • 30, 60, 90 day check-ins if the engagement scope includes them

What this is not

  • A vendor pitch. We don't sell tools and don't take referral commissions.
  • A theoretical "AI strategy" deck that sits on a shelf. Every recommendation has an owner and a date.
  • A staff augmentation arrangement. If you need a developer, we'll tell you and refer one.

The proof

Drove 86% daily AI adoption across a full school staff in 15 months, in a building where the staff had every reason to resist new tools. Same operational discipline, applied to small business problems. Western Reserve case study. See case studies

Have a specific problem in mind?

Send a paragraph about your business and the problem you think AI could help with. We'll come back within two business days with a recommended starting point or tell you it isn't a fit.
